Here’s a deliciously nostalgic and easy-to-make treat: No-Bake Chocolate Salami! Despite the name, there’s no meat involved—just rich chocolate, crunchy cookies, and sometimes nuts or dried fruit, shaped like a salami for fun.
🍫 No-Bake Chocolate Salami
Ingredients:
-
7 oz (200g) dark chocolate (or semisweet), chopped
-
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
-
1/3 cup granulated sugar
-
1 large egg (see note below for no-egg version)
-
7 oz (200g) plain tea biscuits (like Marie, Digestives, or graham crackers), crushed into chunks
-
1/3 cup chopped nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, or pistachios – optional)
-
1/4 cup dried fruit (raisins, cranberries – optional)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
-
Melt Chocolate & Butter:
In a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (or in the microwave in short bursts), melt the chocolate and butter together until smooth. -
Mix Egg and Sugar:
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and sugar together until pale. Slowly pour the warm (but not hot) chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking constantly to avoid scrambling.🔒 No-egg option: Replace the egg with 2 tablespoons of milk or cream + 1 extra tablespoon of butter.
-
Add Crunch & Flavor:
Stir in vanilla, crushed cookies, nuts, and dried fruit. Mix until everything is coated. -
Shape the Salami:
Place the mixture on a sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Shape into a log, wrap tightly, and roll to smooth it out. -
Chill:
Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm. -
Finish & Serve:
Unwrap and dust with powdered sugar. Slice like salami and serve!
This treat stores well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or can be frozen for longer. It’s a great holiday or tea-time snack.
