Mini Freezer Chicken

Here’s a super convenient and tasty Mini Freezer Chicken recipe — perfect for prepping individual portions of marinated chicken that you can pull out anytime for a quick lunch or dinner. These are ideal for meal prep, small households, or portion control. 🍗❄️


🧊 Mini Freezer Chicken

🕒 Prep Time: 15 minutes

❄️ Freeze Time: Up to 3 months

🍽️ Makes: 4–6 individual servings


📝 Ingredients (per freezer portion)

Use this base recipe and multiply it for however many mini packs you want!

Per Mini Chicken Pack:

  • 1 boneless, skinless chicken breast or 2 thighs (approx. 5–6 oz)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil or neutral oil

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Optional add-ins:

    • Soy sauce, honey, mustard, Italian seasoning, etc.


👩‍🍳 Instructions

🔹 1. Prep Marinade

  • In a small bowl or directly in a freezer-safe bag, mix the marinade ingredients.


🔹 2. Portion

  • Place one piece of chicken in each snack-size or sandwich-size zip-top freezer bag (or use silicone freezer cubes for no-waste prep).

  • Pour in marinade and seal, pressing out as much air as possible.


🔹 3. Label & Freeze

  • Label each bag with the flavor and date.

  • Freeze flat for easy stacking.

🧊 Freezer life: Up to 3 months for best flavor and texture.


🔹 4. To Cook (from thawed or frozen)

🐔 From Thawed:

  • Bake: 400°F for 20–25 mins

  • Air Fry: 380°F for 15–18 mins

  • Stovetop: Sear 5–6 mins per side, until 165°F internal

❄️ From Frozen (no thawing):

  • Bake covered at 375°F for 30–40 mins, uncover to brown last 10 mins.

Flavor Marinade Add-ins
Lemon Herb Lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, parsley
BBQ BBQ sauce + dash of vinegar
Teriyaki Soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger
Spicy Buffalo Hot sauce + melted butter
Italian Italian dressing or olive oil + Italian seasoning
