Garlic Butter Bacon Rollups

Posted on September 13, 2025

Here’s a full recipe for Garlic Butter Bacon Rollups — a rich, savory appetizer or snack that’s perfect for parties, game days, or indulgent cravings. Think crispy bacon, melty garlic butter, and toasted bread or dough rolled up into golden bites.

🧄🧈 GARLIC BUTTER BACON ROLLUPS

Crispy, buttery, cheesy, and irresistible.

✅ Ingredients (Makes ~12 rollups)

🥓 For the Rollups:

  • 12 slices white sandwich bread (crusts removed) or use soft dinner rolls

  • 12 slices bacon (not thick-cut; cooks more evenly)

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar (optional)

  • Toothpicks (for holding rollups together while baking)

🧄 For the Garlic Butter:

  • ½ cup (1 stick / 115g) unsalted butter, melted

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried)

  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)

  • Salt & black pepper, to taste

🔪 Instructions

1. Make the Garlic Butter

In a bowl, mix together:

  • Melted butter

  • Minced garlic

  • Parsley

  • Italian seasoning (if using)

  • A pinch of salt and pepper

Set aside.

2. Prepare the Bread Rollups

  • Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin or the back of a spoon.

  • Brush one side of each with garlic butter.

  • (Optional) Sprinkle with a little shredded cheese.

  • Roll up each slice tightly, starting from the buttered side.

  • Wrap a slice of bacon around each rollup, securing with a toothpick.

3. Bake or Pan-Fry

🧑‍🍳 Oven Method (Recommended for less grease)

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Place rollups on a foil-lined baking sheet with a wire rack (for best crispiness).

  3. Bake for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway, until bacon is crispy and bread is golden.

🍳 Pan-Fry Method

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

  2. Cook rollups, turning frequently, until bacon is crispy on all sides and the bread is golden (10–12 minutes).

  3. Drain on paper towels.

4. Serve Hot

  • Remove toothpicks before serving.

  • Serve with:

    • Ranch or spicy mayo

    • Marinara (for a pizza-style twist)

    • Honey mustard or BBQ sauce

🔄 Variations

  • Cheesy explosion: Add a mozzarella stick inside before rolling for an extra-gooey center.

  • Spicy twist: Add a dash of chili flakes or use pepper jack cheese.

  • Low-carb version: Use thin-cut zucchini or eggplant slices instead of bread.

  • Make ahead: Prep and refrigerate before baking. Great for party planning.

🧊 Storage

  • Store leftovers in the fridge up to 3 days.

  • Reheat in air fryer or oven at 375°F (190°C) for 5–7 minutes to re-crisp.
