Brown Sugar Pineapple Wings

Posted on September 2, 2025

Brown Sugar Pineapple Wings are a sticky, sweet, and slightly tangy twist on classic wings β€” perfect for game day, summer cookouts, or a tropical-themed dinner. The pineapple adds brightness, while the brown sugar caramelizes into a finger-licking glaze.

🍍 Brown Sugar Pineapple Wings

πŸ•’ Prep Time: 10 minutes

⏱️ Cook Time: 40–45 minutes

🍽️ Serves: 4–6

πŸ“ Ingredients

For the Wings:

  • 2Β½ – 3 lbs chicken wings (party wings or whole split wings)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • Optional: Β½ tsp garlic powder or smoked paprika for extra flavor

For the Pineapple Brown Sugar Glaze:

  • 1 cup crushed pineapple (with juice) or pineapple juice

  • Β½ cup brown sugar (light or dark)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • Β½ tsp grated ginger (or ΒΌ tsp ground ginger)

  • Optional: 1–2 tsp sriracha or chili flakes (for heat)

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³ Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).

Line a baking sheet with foil and place a rack on top. Lightly grease the rack.

2. Prep the wings:

Pat wings dry. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings.
Arrange in a single layer on the rack.

3. Bake:

Roast wings for 35–40 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.

πŸ›‘ Want them crispier? Broil for 2–3 extra minutes at the end.

4. Make the glaze:

While wings bake, combine pineapple, brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

  • Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir into the sauce.

  • Simmer until thickened and glossy (about 1–2 more minutes).

5. Coat the wings:

Toss hot wings in the pineapple glaze until fully coated.
Optionally, return to the oven for 5 minutes to caramelize the glaze.

6. Serve hot:

Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, or extra pineapple chunks if desired.

πŸ”„ Variations:

  • Air Fryer: Cook wings at 400Β°F for 20–25 minutes, shaking halfway.

  • Grilled: Grill wings over medium-high heat, basting with glaze during the last few minutes.

  • Spicy twist: Add more chili or a spoonful of gochujang for heat.
