Beef Taquitos

Here’s a crispy, flavorful Beef Taquitos recipe — perfect for a snack, appetizer, or easy dinner. You can bake, fry, or air fry them depending on your vibe.


🌮 Beef Taquitos (Crispy Mexican-Style Rolled Tacos)

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or shredded beef)

  • ½ small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

  • ½ cup salsa or tomato sauce (adds moisture + flavor)

  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)

  • 10–12 small corn tortillas (or flour, if preferred)

  • Oil, for frying or brushing


🔥 Instructions:

1. Make the Beef Filling:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook onion until soft (2–3 minutes).

  • Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

  • Stir in garlic, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Add salsa or tomato sauce and cook 2–3 minutes more.

  • Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheese. Let cool slightly.

2. Warm the Tortillas:

  • Wrap tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30–45 seconds to soften and prevent cracking.

    • OR warm in a dry skillet for a few seconds per side.

3. Roll the Taquitos:

  • Place 2–3 tbsp of beef filling on one edge of each tortilla.

  • Roll tightly and place seam-side down.


Cooking Options:

✅ Air Fryer:

  • Preheat to 400°F (200°C).

  • Lightly spray taquitos with oil.

  • Air fry for 7–9 minutes, turning once halfway, until crispy.

✅ Baked:

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

  • Place taquitos on a baking sheet lined with parchment.

  • Brush or spray with oil.

  • Bake for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway through.

✅ Fried (Traditional):

  • Heat oil (½ inch deep) in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).

  • Fry taquitos seam-side down for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden.

  • Drain on paper towels.


🧄 Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve with:

    • Guacamole

    • Sour cream

    • Pico de gallo or salsa

    • Shredded lettuce & cotija cheese


🧊 Storage / Make Ahead:

  • Freeze rolled uncooked taquitos on a tray, then transfer to a freezer bag.

  • Cook from frozen: Bake or air fry an extra 3–5 minutes.
