Gooey Apple Caramel Bombs

Get ready for an irresistible fall treat: Gooey Apple Caramel Bombs ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฏ โ€” soft, golden dough filled with warm cinnamon apples and oozing caramel, baked (or air-fried) into sweet, sticky perfection. Theyโ€™re basically mini apple pies that explode with gooey goodness in every bite!


๐ŸŽ Gooey Apple Caramel Bombs

๐Ÿ“‹ Ingredients (Makes 8โ€“10 bombs):

For the Filling:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored & diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work great)

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • ยฝ tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

  • Pinch of salt

  • 8โ€“10 soft caramels (or use caramel sauce if baking only)

For the Bombs:

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (like Pillsbury Grands), or crescent roll dough

  • 2 tbsp melted butter

  • Cinnamon-sugar (ยผ cup sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon)


๐Ÿณ Instructions:

1. Make the Apple Filling:

  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  • Add diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

  • Cook for 5โ€“7 minutes until soft and syrupy.

  • (Optional: Stir in cornstarch mixed with a splash of water to thicken).

  • Let cool slightly.


2. Assemble the Bombs:

  • Flatten each biscuit dough round into a circle (~4 inches wide).

  • Place 1 spoonful of apple filling + 1 soft caramel in the center.

  • Fold dough around filling and pinch edges tightly to seal โ€” like a dumpling.

  • Place seam-side down.


3. Bake or Air Fry:

Oven Method:

  • Preheat to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).

  • Place bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.

  • Bake for 15โ€“18 minutes until golden and puffed.

Air Fryer Method:

  • Preheat to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).

  • Place bombs in air fryer basket (donโ€™t overcrowd).

  • Brush with butter & cinnamon-sugar.

  • Air fry for 8โ€“10 minutes, until golden brown.


4. Optional Caramel Drizzle:

  • Melt extra soft caramels with a splash of milk for a warm drizzle.

  • Drizzle over bombs before serving (optional but so good!).


๐Ÿจ Serve with:

  • Vanilla ice cream

  • Whipped cream

  • A sprinkle of sea salt for salted caramel vibes


๐ŸงŠ Storage:

  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.

  • Reheat in the air fryer or oven to restore crispiness.
