Air fryer roast beef

Here’s a simple and juicy Air Fryer Roast Beef recipe — tender inside, beautifully browned outside, and ready in under an hour depending on the cut.


🥩 Air Fryer Roast Beef

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 lb (900g–1.4kg) beef roast (top round, eye of round, sirloin tip, or rump roast work well)

  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

  • 1 tsp fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)


🔥 Instructions:

1. Bring to Room Temp:

Let the roast sit out for 30–45 minutes to come to room temperature. This helps it cook evenly.

2. Preheat Air Fryer:

Set air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.

3. Season:

  • Pat roast dry with paper towels.

  • Rub all over with olive oil.

  • Mix dry seasonings and rub generously over the roast.

4. Air Fry:

  • Place the roast in the air fryer basket (fat side up if applicable).

  • Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes to sear the outside.

  • Lower temp to 325°F (160°C) and cook for:

    • 🟣 Rare: ~15–18 min/lb (internal temp ~125°F / 52°C)

    • 🔵 Medium-Rare: ~18–20 min/lb (130–135°F / 54–57°C)

    • 🟠 Medium: ~20–22 min/lb (140°F / 60°C)

🧠 Use a meat thermometer to check — it’s the only way to get it perfect!

5. Rest:

  • Remove roast, tent loosely with foil, and rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.

  • This allows juices to redistribute and meat to stay juicy.


🥗 Serving Ideas:

  • Serve with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or in sandwiches.

  • Slice thinly for wraps or meal prep.


📝 Tips:

  • Want a crusty bark? Use Dijon mustard under the spice rub.

  • Smaller roasts (under 2 lbs) cook very fast — start checking temp early.

  • Save pan drippings for a quick au jus or gravy!
