Reheating pizza

Posted on September 18, 2025

Reheating pizza so it tastes almost as good as fresh depends on how much time and equipment you have. Here’s a quick breakdown of the best methods, from crispy to convenient:

🔥 Best Way: Skillet Method (Stovetop)

For a crispy crust and melty cheese

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat (no oil needed).

  2. Place pizza slice(s) in the pan.

  3. Cook uncovered for 2–3 minutes until the crust is crisp.

  4. Add a few drops of water to the edge of the pan (not on the pizza), then cover with a lid.

  5. Let steam for 30–60 seconds to re-melt the cheese.

✅ Crispy bottom
✅ Gooey top
⏱️ Takes ~5 minutes

🔥 Also Excellent: Air Fryer

For quick, crispy results

  1. Set air fryer to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Heat pizza for 3–4 minutes.

✅ Crispy crust
✅ Fast
❌ Can over-crisp or dry cheese if left too long

🔥 Oven Method

For reheating several slices evenly

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Place slices on a baking sheet (on foil or parchment).

  3. Optional: Place a piece of foil loosely on top to prevent over-browning.

  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes.

✅ Even heating
✅ Good for batches
❌ Takes longer

⚡ Quickest (But Least Good): Microwave

For soft, fast pizza (not crispy)

  1. Place slice on a plate with a cup of water next to it (helps prevent sogginess).

  2. Microwave on medium power for 30–60 seconds.

✅ Fast
❌ Soft crust, sometimes rubbery

💡 Pro Tips:

  • Want to revive the crispiness? After microwaving, toss the slice in a hot skillet for 1–2 minutes.

  • Cold pizza is also valid. Just saying. 😎
